On Friday 26th April 2019 the MPS GCA successfully assisted the Greek Orthodox Church of St Constantine & Helen to complete the procession of the Epitaphio through the streets of Crystal Palace.

Over the years, the MPS GCA has supported a number of churches and their communities across London during the Holy Week of Easter. This is the most celebrated period of the Greek Orthodox Calendar, attracting hundreds of members of the congregation. This years Holy Week fell a week later than the Easter celebrated in the UK, with the parades taking place around the outside of churches on Good Friday where local residents and businesses were enjoying the end of a working week.

Tom H-S, the Chairperson and lead on the event, exclaimed, "This is another great example of how the GCA can assist both its community whilst enabling the MPS to be more culturally aware and understanding the importance of such a procession to a BAME community it serves"

The procession commenced at 8:30pm with a congregation in excess 900 people and was complete in 25 minutes without incident. Reverend George was able to bless the three corners of the triangle before returning to the church to complete the service. The church committee and members of the community were full of praise and thanks for the support of the MPS GCA, which enabled such a significant religious procession to take place once again.
